Move On?

That one sentence hit me like a wave, drowning me in thoughts I wasn’t ready to face. The idea of moving on felt so distant, so impossible. How does someone just move on from losing a part of themselves?

I sat there, silent. A thousand thoughts ran through my head. What would happen to me if she wasn’t there anymore? Would life still make sense? Would the world still feel as colorful? Or would everything just turn into a dull, meaningless blur?

People say time heals. That wounds fade. That life goes on. Maybe it does. Maybe, with enough days and distractions, we learn to function again. But does that mean we’ve moved on? Or just learned to carry the weight differently?

The truth is, we never really "move on" from people we love. We move forward with them, even when they’re not physically present. They stay in the way we laugh, in the songs we listen to, in the little things that remind us of them. We don’t forget. We don’t replace. We just find new ways to exist with the love they left behind.

And maybe, just maybe, that’s what moving on truly means. Not leaving them behind, but carrying them with us, always.
